New School in Nocatee to Open August 2018
Thousands of families are making this master-planned community their home. With this influx of families come hundreds of kids entering the St. Johns County school system. To accommodate this growth, a new K-8 school will open its doors for the 2018-2019 school year. The school is located next to Nocatee’s Twenty Mile neighborhood.
The K-8 school will be the zoned school for the following Nocatee’s neighborhoods: Coastal Oaks, Kelly Pointe, Nocatee Town Center, The Palms Townhomes, Tidewater, Twenty Mile, Willowcove, and the underdevelopment Crosswater.
Valley Ridge Academy will remain the elementary and middle school for children living in Austin Park and Greenleaf. Nease is the zoned high school for all Nocatee students. “The new school will open next year as a K-6 school, then expand to K-7 the following year and be fully K-8 in year three" (News4Jax).
The school's name has yet to be determined but will likely be released in Spring 2018.
