How Today’s Market Differs - 2022 vs 2008
As agents who worked through the “Great Recession,” we have firsthand knowledge of how difficult that time period was for homeowners trying to sell their property. Today’s market is distinctly different! The biggest change is the level of equity owners have in their homes now. Nationwide, we are at a historic level of high equity – which is in stark contrast to 2008 when many home buyers were purchasing with the intention to flip the property. Those speculative buyers were using faulty mortgage products and the mortgage industry was essentially a house of cards.
