New K-8 Planned for Nocatee

While developers did not originally plan to extend Crosswater Parkway until a much later development phase, Palm Valley Academy is already near capacity, so they will construct roads to and from this designated Nocatee parcel in order to accommodate the new school.

Three sites were set aside for future Nocatee schools – two in the south and one near the Coastal Oaks neighborhood. While the original development plan had an elementary school slated for the site near Coastal Oaks, multiple issues have arisen with that location. These include an increase in the school footprint (by adding grades 6-8) making the size of the parcel too small, existing wetlands, and traffic concerns, among others.

School officials are hoping that the opening of this K-8 will correspond with the new high school being finished in World Golf Village the same year (21-22).
