First impressions are important… That translates to initially meeting someone, or the first time seeing a home. It is very common for homeowners to begin overlooking exterior flaws. However, to a third party viewer, those blemishes are often viewed as more pronounced.  Whether you are looking to sell your property or simply brighten the place up, follow these simple fixes that will take your home from unmemorable to unforgettable. Give your home a few touches that send the message, “Come on in! We’re happy you’re here”.

Work from the outside in:

Take a look at your home from the road and try to see it with new eyes. Pinpoint the things you have gotten used to. The sagging gutters, dingy walkway, and dead spots in the lawn can be eyesores to a potential buyer, and also to you (even though you have turned a blind eye for months). Fixing these imperfections will go a long way.

Tesla’s New Solar Tiles Add Value to Homes for Sale

At the end of 2016, Telsa unveiled their new and highly innovative solar roof tiles. The product looks just like standard roof tiles, but have the same harnessing power as traditional solar panels. The technology is revolutionary, and the environmental benefits that come from its use are incredible. The costs of the roof sound steep at first, but the long-term rewards that come from installation are worth the upfront cost. 

Tesla’s claim is that their roof will cost less than a regular roof, when the benefits of solar production are factored in. Their quote for the solar powered roof on a typical home in Maryland is $52,000. However, with the energy the roof generates plus the tax credits,  “the roof will actually pay for itself and earn you about $8,000 over 30 years” ( The cost of the roof is calculated by adding the price of materials, labor of installation and Powerwall battery. But the value of a completely sustainable energy source built into a home that earns tax breaks and bodes off-the-grid reliability arguably makes up for the upfront cost, and then some!

TPC’s Movie Night

The Sawgrass Players Club (TPC) Recreation Committee's annual Fall Flick in the Field will be held this Saturday evening October 21st. Food trucks will arrive at 6 p.m. for residents to purchase pre-show dinner and the movie will begin at 7 p.m. This is a super family-friendly event! Please bring blankets or lawn chairs and flashlights.
