Sawgrass Players Club, home of the PGA Tour’s TPC tournament, is just west of Highway A1A and is the sister community to the Sawgrass Country Club. This gated neighborhood is home to 1800 residences and features both the TPC Player’s Club Stadium and Valley golf courses.

TPC Sawgrass opened for play in 1980 and in November 2006 completed a major renovation. The club also features the Pete Dye/Bobby Weed-designed Valley Course and the state-of-the-art Tour Academy teaching facility. Travel + Leisure Golf’s “2008 World’s Best Golf Resorts Readers’ Survey” recently named the TPC the number 1 rated golf course in Florida and also had accolades for the nearby Marriott Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa, which was ranked No. 2 in the U.S. in the category “Best Resorts for Buddy Trips” and the top golf hotel in Florida.
The Sawgrass Players Club also features several parks, a large playground and a community pool. The Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club, formerly known as the Oakbridge Country Club, is also located in this gated community. The Ponte Vedra Golf & Tennis Club offers 8 Har-Tru tennis courts, active men, women and children’s tennis, a large swimming pool, dining and golf. Membership is required for some amentities.

Sawgrass Players Club is located in the St. Johns County School District. Students attend Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley/Rawlings Elementary School (A rated in both 2007 and 2006), Landrum Middle School (A rated in both 2007 and 2006), and Ponte Vedra High School, which opened in 2008.
