Elacora, a national home builder has been chosen to build 24 new homes in The Plantation. Prepping for the Mortgage Process

Are you planning on purchasing a new home in the next year? If so, now is a great time to start getting your financials in order for the mortgage process. Applying for a home loan can be time intensive, so being aware of what is expected ahead of time can save quite a bit of frustration.

Investigate Your Credit

If you don’t regularly monitor your credit reports, start now! You can pull one credit report annually without charge. But, it’s important to keep an eye on reports from all three credit bureaus since not all organizations report to each bureau. Make sure that you don’t see any surprises on your report. If there are issues, take steps to remedy the problems immediately.

Lenders give better rates to those with higher credit scores. So, work toward making sure that you pay your bills regularly and keep your debt to income ratio as low as possible. Both of these contribute greatly to your score.
