After countless hours of in-depth analysis, the Watermarke Team has decided on the “right kind” of development plan for Vilano Beach.

Back in 2007, the Beachcomber Plan was fully approved to build a 79- home community at 3455 Coastal Highway. In 2016, before moving forward in the building process, the Watermarke Team thoroughly studied this soon-to-be community. This beautiful piece of land is one of the few waterfront parcels left in Vilano Beach and the team wanted to make sure that this was the “right kind” of development plan, which ensures maximum benefits to the surrounding community, and minimal impact on the environment and traffic. The Beachcomber Plan was not going to benefit Vilano Beach the right way.

The Watermarke Plan is the “right kind” of plan. The 79 home community plan will change to a private resort club, The Watermarke Resort & Club. This will be a private boutique resort and club that offers hotel rooms and event/ meeting space and will be situated on 43 acres in Vilano Beach, just north of St. Augustine. The Growth Management Department of the St. Johns County Planning & Zoning Agency has already studied and has recommended The Watermarke Plan. This change will both maximize benefits and minimize impact to the community and environment. This is the best plan for the Vilano Beach community.
