Nocatee ‘s New School Construction Plans Have Been Delayed!

The projected opening date for Nocatee's two K-8 schools has been pushed back one year.

Back in January, we announced that Nocatee was planning on developing 3 more schools, two K-8 schools and one elementary school. Due to the rapid growth of student enrollment in the county, the projected time of completion was before the 2017 / 2018 school year began, however, the date has been pushed back a year for the two K-8 schools. The school district only received one bid and it exceeded the construction budget and represented inadequate competition among other contractors. In order to better manage the cost and budget, the school plans will be revised and the projected opening date will now be before the 2018 / 2019 school year begins. As for the elementary school, the construction is planned to begin in the summer of 2016 and to be completed before the 2017 / 2018 school year begins. Stay tuned for more information on the Nocatee school projects!
