Practical Home Selling Advice to Draw in Potential Buyers

Curb appeal refers to the first impression formed of your house from the street by potential buyers.  Having the right amount of appeal can literally make the difference between a potential buyer stopping to view the residence or continue driving.

To increase curb appeal, consider the following:

  1. Remove clutter – put away toys, tools, and other non-essential items.
  2. Remove mold and mildew on the exterior of the home, sidewalks, and driveways.
  3. Clean windows.
  4. Empty gutters of debris.
  5. Remove vegetation overgrowth from sidewalks and walkways.
  6. Mow the yard and keep free of weeds.
  7. Clean up leaves (or nuts).
  8. Trim trees that are too close to the house.
  9. Add lighting to walkways and front porch area for night appeal, if possible.
  10. Paint or replace the front door and/or change front door hardware, if possible.
