Nocatee’s Greenway and Preserve Trail Systems
A recent article in the Ponte Vedra Recorder described Nocatee’s PARC Group’s commitment to preservation. More than 60% of Nocatee land has been set aside and will be permanently protected. It includes more than 5,ooo acres of environmentally sensitive land.
Paved and natural trails, collectively known as the Greenway Trail System, connect parks, common areas, the new water park, and the Nocatee Town Center. Trail routes and educational signs are posted throughout the network. The first phase is three miles long with additional phases planned.
The Nocatee Preserve is a three-mile stretch of land along the Intracoastal Waterway. The opening of this land allows residents of Nocatee and St. Johns County a beautiful area to pursue quiet recreational activities. The Preserve Trailhead starts near Ponte Vedra High School at Davis Park. Parking and restrooms are available. This trail provides an additional area for horse enthusiasts and will also eventually offer canoe and kayak launches.
