Lots of Fun at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

If you haven’t been to the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens lately, you may find some strange guests.  Dinosaurs have invaded the Zoo!  This travelling exhibit, DinoAlive, features various dinosaurs that move and make noises just like their ancestors did.  These exotic creatures are only here until the end of June, so make sure to visit soon!

In addition, there are many fun upcoming events at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.

  • On April 2, 2011, there is a Garden Tour from 9 to 11 a.m. Admission is $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers and includes access to the zoo for the day. During this tour, you’ll “Get in Touch with the Garden” with exploration into the tactile aspects of gardening. To take advantage of all of the beautiful seasons at the Gardens, ongoing Garden Tours are available during the weekdays and on the first Saturday of every month.
  • On April 8th, they have a DinoAlive sleepover available to members only.  With this event, guests will eat dinner together, sleep over, and receive a moonlight safari tour of the new DinoAlive exhibit.  A continental breakfast will be served the following morning. Special admission fees apply.
  • On April 9th from 10:30 a.m. until 12:20 p.m., the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra will have a brass quartet and quintet playing on the Range of the Jaguar stage.

There are many, many more great activities and events planned at the Zoo during the spring months, so check back to their website often.
